Erdos 是当代最伟大的数学家之一,1913年出生在匈牙利.他一生没有固定住所.

4岁时就计算例如坐火车从地球到太阳需要多长时间的问题.

Erdos is one of the greatest modern mathematicians. He was born in Hungary, in 1913,and he never settled down in his entire life.
When he was four, he was already calculating for problems like the time a train will take for it to reach the sun from the Earth. He asks his mother's friends for their ages, and could instantly calculate mentally how many seconds have already gone by in their lives.
There are many stories about Erdos. The first one is when seventeen-year-old Erdos met person A, the first sentence he said was " give me a four-digit number". A replied,"2532." Erdos replied immediately,"Its square is 6411024, sorry, I am quite old now, if not I could give you its cube." One can imagine how gifted he was in mathematics.
Erdos had many unique opinions. He address women as masters but men as slaves; marriage as captivity and divorce as freedom.“非数学家为之不值一提的人”这句话我不是很明白.
When M first met Erdos, he was asked" When did you arrive?" When M looked at his watch, G whispered to him," To Erdos, this sentence means, 'when were you born?'." Another story was that he referred to a kitten as Fascist, and his explanation was, " If you are a mice, then you will understand."
Erdos is not afraid of death, the only thing death meant to Erdos was discontinuity from mathematical studies.Thus, he had always said that there are a lot of time to rest in the coffin. In 1996, he left us. Rest in peace, Erdos.
