表示方位的形容词如north,south,east,wast,+of位于地名前表示此地名的哪个方位,south of london就是伦敦南方.如果在方位词前再加表公里,车程,时间的名词,则表示在此地名哪个方位多少公里,多少车程,或多少时间的路程.forty-five miles south of london伦敦以南45英里.
这里的south是副词,意为在南方,向南方,所以前面没有介词了.
south的三种词性：
1）做名词时,有固定搭配：in the south of China
