当年,南海落潮,水面上出现一尊青石佛像,众僧人选择吉日,率山民抬着佛像进山洞.可是,由于佛像高,洞口低,无法将佛像抬入洞中.正当众人急的没有办法时,有人戏言,“如果老母把头歪一下,就能进去了.”话音刚落,人们见石佛果真把头歪向一边,众僧人与山民便顺利的将石佛抬入洞中.众人吃惊,便匆忙退了出来.忙乱之中,忘了请老母正过来,所以至今石佛仍然歪着脖子.

Mother Crooked-Neck has a long history of 1500 years and a large amount of people flock to here to make obeisance.
He was one of the avatars of Avalokitesvara and was called Responsive Efficacious-God by all his believers.
He is the only buddha statue with a crooked neck ever in the whole world.
During the time of South China Sea's ebb,a buddha statue made of bluestone appeared upon the surface of the sea.Buddhas chose a auspicious day and led people to hold the statue and place it into a cave.However,the statue couldn't be hol into the cave because its length was longer than the cave's height.While everyone was worrying about this,someone made a joke and said:" It'll be perfect if Mother can tilt his head,then he absolutely can go in!" As soon as he finished,people indeed saw the statue tilt its head to a side,therefore people placed it into the cave with no more obstructions.All the people were so astonished that they went out hurriedly.All in a mess,they forgot to put the head right,so the buddha statue kept a crooked neck till now.
