Ideology of Chinese
It is very difficult to define the phrase of “Chinese ideology” given consideration to the national’s long history,exuberant cultures as well as complicated process into modernization.To put it simple,the Chinese ideology is a mixture of traditional values,communism and consumerism.
Traditionally,the Chinese ideology was backboned in Confucius and supported by Taoism and Buddhism,and the value of Confucius is deep-rooted in Chinese behaviors.The direct and simple way to say whether a person is a “Chinese” is to see whether he or she respects or highlights the value or not.It should be noted,despite repeat downplay,Confucius is still the very core part of Chinese ideology.The Chinese view about nation,government,family and personal relationship.
Communism is the officially hailed ideology in China,and every Chinese student is taught at school to respect and inherit the ideology,namely Marx-Leninist,Mao Thoughts,De Xiaoping Theories,Three Representatives… and there is no sign to see any the end of the list.But the official ideology is increasingly restricted in official documents and propaganda materials,and it is withdrawing from the day-to-day life of common people by a gradual manner though the significance of the ideology still should not be neglected given its high role in diplomacy and political agenda.
The traditional and official ideologies are retreating to give place to the emerging capitalism and consumerism,and there is no denying saying that consumerism has already taken a central place in the modern Chinese ideology.The consumerism is sweeping Chinese brains with an appalling power and is changing the social structure in China with an unprecedented speed and wildness.
There is still no clue to see how the Chinese ideology will be in coming 20 or 30 years,but one thing will be sure,the future of Chinese ideology will be shaped by the three components.
