此句中"got up",dressed,went,做并列谓语.一般并列谓语都是由前后逻辑关系紧密的连续性动作来充当.
2.能构成伴随关系时
He sat in the armchair,reading a newspaper.
这里reading a newsaper 就是现在分词短语做了伴随状语.
他坐在扶手椅里读着报纸.
伴随状语是指状语从句的动作伴随主句发生,它的特点是：它所表达的动作或状态是伴随着句子谓语动词的动作而发生或存在的.
而1)中不可能got up .going downstairs 显然不合逻辑,除非他就睡在楼梯上
3.现在分词短语做时间,结果状语,原因状语等.
Being a kind man ,he decided to help them .
=Because he was a kind man ,he decided to help them.
