of,place和land的疑问
我用的是外研版初二上学期英语书.
在形容北海公园时,它说It's kind of quiet.(kind of是一点儿的意思,可教辅书上的翻译是说“北海公园很安静”)
另外,书上place和land的单复数使用也让我感到困惑,以下是书中的四个句子：
So they fly to different places for their holidays.
And many animals have no place to live in.
And we're taking away their lands and forests.
so pandas have less and less land to live on.

kind of 字面上理解确实是“一些”的意思但在英语本土中可以用“很多”解释,很多英语都是很口语化的.在我国英文书中很多计较的单复数形式,在英国人民口语中都是很随便的,就像我们网上的语言一样.要懂得变通.
至于places 和place land 和lands
因为places是用于具体确定的目的地,所以用单数
复数则表示抽象的空间比如说“room”用作房间时可用复数,但也有单数的“空间”意思这种现象很多单词都有的
