我要一篇LADY OR TIGER 结局的文章,越快越好!
Which came out of the opened door--the lady,or the tiger?
Which would come out of the right door—the lady or the tiger? In Frank R.Stockton’s article The Lady,or the Tiger,he left this question to all the readers. The answer will be different from different people because different people have different opinions.
On one hand,Some people believe that it would be the lady who came out. They base their belief on the grounds that even the princess was semi-barbaric,which was much alike her father, she would not let the young man die since she loved the young man with a warm and strong ardor.Besides,as they point out,the strong love would certainly surpass the feeling of jealousy and envy.In addition, according to their berief, love should be unselfish. If a woman loves a man deeply and heartily, the woman will help the man to live happily, even she can’t be with him.
On the other hand, others may react to the issue the other way around and hold that the opposite is just more reasonable. That is,perhaps it was the tiger. From their angle of view, the princess was the apple of the King’s eye,and was loved by him above all humanity, from which can be easily concluded that the princess would always have things she wanted in a walk;once she couldn’t get things she wanted, she would absolutely destroy it.She was used to such procedure. And even worse,as they claim, the King would not allow the young man living; and the princess would not be against her father’s will to save her lover’s life. The princess knew the fact clearly that her status was given by her father and her happy life also was offered by her father. If she was against her father, her comfortable life in present would disappear.what’s the worst of all, they claim that a woman’s jealousy is the fiercest and most cruel “tiger”.when a woman falls in love with a man deeply, she won’t allow the man having another woman at all.In her eyes, love is one’s own possession which can’t be shared with anybody else. The princess was too jealous to bear her lover marrying the other lady which is due to her semi-barbaric character. She was selfish when it comes to love, which is what most women in love would do.
Personally,I am of the latter opinion. For one thing, the author had given us many hints about the answer. The author had described many times the princess’s psychological activities:the princess hated the fairest and loveliest damsel behind the door very much and she even often saw or imagined the moment her lover and the damsel be togenther and she gnashed her teeth, and torn her hair, when she saw his start of rapturous delight as the young man opened the door of the lady! All these psychological description have indicated that the princess would choose the tiger for her lover. For another,I think it was the princess’s character that determined the young man’s destiny. As a princess, she could get anything she wanted and because of it,she had the thought in mind that if she cann’t get something, she would rather destroy it than left it to others. And this character of the princess also was decided by the author. In short, the author had had the ending of the story which was that the tiger came out of the right door.
