Everyone is Number One
Nowadays people are always competing against other people, whether it is students at school or adults at work. People always try to be better than other people and some would even use foul play to get what they want.
But what does it mean to be number one? Obviously, different people have different opinions on this. Some think that being number one means that you must be top in what you do, for some others, the meaning is quite different. though most people ideas, I'd say, will probably be closer to the first opinion than the second one.
I, however, falls into the minority of the second opinion. For me, being number one doesn't necessarily mean that I have to be first in absolutely everything that I do. To me, it means that I can set myself a goal and I can work hard to achieve that goal. That is what it means to me. To reach my own goals. I may not get first in everything or even first in anything at all, but if I tried and did my best, then even if the results are not satisfing, I'll still be happy with it and I can say to myself that I am number one.
But sadly, many people don't have the same ideas as I have, and put great stresses on themselves and some will even commit suicide because they felt ashamed that they didn't get top of the class in a, say, middle of the year examination. That is just a waste of life, because even if they may not be good in one area they do, they might excel in others, and this way they are still number one. In fact everyone's is a number one if they can just overlook the honours and prizes. If only they can just look beyond the surface and look more deeply into themselves, and if they do that then they'll find that they too, like me, is a number one.
So I believe I'm No.1!
