The use of long sentences:the syntactic feature of legal English is closely related with its stylistic feature.In formal legal regulations and documents,restrictions against headwords as well as conditions of one legal concept are too many,which causes that there are more long sentences than short sentences in legal English.By using long sentences,rights and obligations in all directions involved in legal documents can be correctly defined,and the possibility of misinterpretation as well as misunderstanding can be ruled out.Such long sentences are usually simple ones or compound ones including many incidental components such as clauses,attributives or adverbials.With complex structures,long sentences are good at specific narration,incisive reasoning and nice structure.
