In the United States and Canada, people often invite friends for a meal ,a party,or just coffee.
Here are the kinds of things people always say.” Would you like to come over for dinner tonight”?or ”Hey,we are having a party on Friday,Can you come?” To reply to an invitation, either says thank you and accept it ,or says sorry and give an excuse.Sometimes, however, what people say is like invitations but which are not real invitations. For example:”Please gather for lunch soon.””Please come for a meal sometime.” They are not real invitations because they do not talk about the date or time. They just show that the person is trying to be friendly. To reply to this, people just say ”Sure, that would be great.”or”Ok,thank yor.” So next time you hear what is like an invitation, listen carefully. Is it a real invitation or is the person just being friendly?
问:What should a real invitation have?
A real invitation should have an exact date or time.
真正的邀请是有具体时间的,而那些听起来像是邀请,但没有具体时间的其实只是想表达友好,有点像客套话.
