雅思作文求批改,顺便打分
题目some people think that the detailed criminal description on newspaper and tv has bad influences,so this kind of information should be restricted on the media,to what extent do you agree or disagree?
Thanks to the sky-rocketing advancement in media technology and telecommunication, the information explosion is influencing nearly every aspect of life on this planet and at the same time, some negative information, like detailed criminal descriptions on newspaper and TV,is considered to result in rising crimes. Therefore, some think this kind of information should be removed from the media. But personally,I am opposed in this restriction.
Those who feel that the censorship is necessary might argue that these detailed reports,by statistics,do contribute directly to rising copycat crimes.Obviously, potential criminals would have easy access to the criminal skills, ranging from scheming to escaping,if the details could be found on the mass media.Furthermore, inspired by the violence broadcast, potential criminals could become more aggressive and act similarly, thus leading to social instability.
However, the arguments above fail to support the restriction policy when we take the Internet into consideration.Instead,we would find that the restriction on criminal information might make the situation even more difficult. As is known to all,the information online, unlike that on newspaper and TV,is almost out of control.Still, potential criminals could get skilled and encouraged whether the restriction policy is carried out. What's worse, most of us are less likely to receive a certain piece of information through the Internet than the newspaper or TV if we do not intend to seek for it.But the hidden criminals want the information badly and in this way, they are better informed than us.Consequently, crimes would become more harmful to the general public that are not prepared.
In conclusion,it is true that the detailed criminal descriptions on the media do have bad influences, but the restriction would not work as expected since the Internet is widely used.So we should look for other methods to reduce crimes.
