Liu Yatian, a ninth grade student was sad last week. She did badly in a math test and her mom was _36__ with her.
“You _37_study hard. I don’t want to waste my money on you anymore,” her mom shouted.
Liu ran to her room, but later she went to _38_ her mom.
“I’m sorry, Mom. I shouldn’t have done so badly in the test,” she said.
Liu and her mom _39_ the next hour talking about how Liu could become better _40_ math.
其实doing better on doing somthing=doing better at something).
Many teens may have been shouted at by their parents as Liu was, _41_ few of them would like to talk to their parents later about their problems.
“Most teens don’t like talking to their parents. They think they’ve grown up and don’t _42_their parents’ help. This is wrong,” said Professor Chen of Beijing Normal University. “Teens should _43_ friends with their parents. Parents can give their children good _44_,” Chen added.
Chen gave the following tips to_45_you make friends with your parents.
①Tell them about your problems and, if they want to help you, let them.
②Talk to them about your interests, so they can understand you better.
