Take a look at option C(When their normal time for migration arrives)first.
Affix your eye on the first sentence in this paragraph:
Early in his
research,Kramer found that caged migratory birds 【became】 very restless at about
the time they would normally have begun migration in the wild.
被关在笼子里的椋鸟在每年正常的迁徙应该开始的时候就会【开始】变得很烦躁.
As u can see,the statement in the option was directly hitted right from the start.
Insofar as option A(when the weather is overcast)
Here is the original clip:
He then set up
experiments with caged starlings and found that their orientation was,in fact,
in the proper migratory direction 【except】 when the sky was overcast,at which
times there was no clear direction to their restless movements.Kramer
surmised,therefore,that they were orienting according to the position of the
Sun.
Read this sentence carefully:他进行了这些实验,发现椋鸟总是飞向平常迁徙的方向,【除了】天气阴云的时候.这时它们的躁动就没有明确方向了.K由此推测,椋鸟是通过太阳导航的.
So.当weather is overcast 的时候,椋鸟其实是找不对路了,而不是【开始】变得烦躁.
