摘 要 在信息时代高速发展的现代社会,英语作为应用最为广泛的国际语言,一种媒介的手段和信息传递与转换的工具日益受到重视。较强的翻译能力是从事外语工作必不可少的条件，而高职学生英语基础都相对较差，词汇量严重不足，所以提高高职高专学生的翻译能力是教学的一个重点。外语学习者在自身条件、学习环境、所付出的努力等大体相同的情况下, 其学习效果却有天壤之别，浅谈影响高职高专学生英语翻译能力的因素并从高职高专学生的现状出发发现在现实英语教学中的一些问题,以及提出一些提高学生翻译能力的对策。
