Fruit juice fans in China might see changes on their drinking bottles soon.Huiyuan,China's most popular juice brand might be standing alongside the logo of carbonated drink meker Coca-Cola.This month the world's biggest soft drink company offered a$2.4 billion bid to buy Huiyuan.
"Huiyuan would become a brand under Coca-Cola,which would do good to both companies,"said Zhu Xinli,president of Huiyuan.He said Huiyuan will take advantage of money and experience in sales from the US company.And Coca-Cola,would go to the top of the Chinese beverage market after getting Huiyuan's market share.
"This deal with strengthen our business in China,especially since the juice part is so fast growing,"said Muhtar Kent,president of Coca-Cola.Alongside China's fast economic growth is the people's increasing awareness of healthy drink.Chinese fruit and vegetable juice sales are expected to go up 16 percent this year,more than double the growth ofcarbonated drinks.
