一:A little mouse thinks he is the tallest and strongest animal in the world.His mother says to him,"Don't say you are the strongest in front of an elephant."
The little mouse does not know who the elephant is.So he goes out to look for the elephant.He meets an ant.He asks her,"Are you an elephant?""No,Iam not."says the ant.
Then the little mouse meets a rabbit.He asks her,"Are you an elephant?You are bigger than me""No,I'm not.An elephant is much bigger."says the rabbit.The little mouse goes on.Suddenly he sees four big trees,"Aha,let me climb up one of the trees.Then I can see where the elephant is."says the little mouse.Then he begins to climb a tree.
"Get down!Get down"someone says."I'm an elephant.Go and climb that tall tree over there.Then you can see me."
二:The Beets were a new couple.The things in the rooms,such as the telecision,the computer,the fridge,furniture and so on,were all left by their parents.They only paid some money for their food and clothes.But they tried their best to sace money.If they had something important to tell their friends,they preferred to go to cisit them rather than call them.
One day,it was a quarter past nine.Mr Beet didn't come back.His wife was a little worried.The supper was cold and she had waited for two hours and a half.She was sitting by the table in the dark room.
Suddenly the woman heard someone coming upstairs.It was her husband's step.She hurried to poen the door.In the dark she could hear his deep breathing.As soon as he sat down,she turned on the light and found he looked cery tired.
"Why do you come back so late,dear?"asked the woman."Hacen't you caught a bus?"
"Yes,but I didn't take it."
"Why not?"
"I ran after it so that I saced two dollars this evening."
"That's great!"the woman said happily."Run after a taxi next time and you'll sace both more time and money!"
三:Once a young man was traveling on a bike.In the middle of the day,the young man felt very hungry.He wanted to find a restaurant to have a meal.But he didn't know where he could find one.Just at that time he saw an old woman coming.So he came up to the old woman and asked,"Hey,where is the nearest restaurant?"
For a few minutes the old woman said nothing.The young man thought that she didn't hear his question.So he asked again,"Hey,where is the nearest restaurant?"
"Sorry,I don't know,young man."answered the old woman.
The young man felt a little disappointed.He was just going away when he heard the woman's voice again,"Oh,yes,young man.I remenber.Go along this street and take the second turning on the right.Walk on,and you will find a restaurant on your left."
The young man was very happy.Then he heard the old woman going on saying,"Oh,young man,you drop something."
The young man turned back quickly and asked,"What do i drop?"
"You drop your manners."answered the old woman.
The young man's face turned red.
