Long ago,there lived a farmer and his dog,named Shelly.The dog was very faithful to the farmer.And the farmer also liked the dog very much.
One hot day,the farmer got back home from his hard work.He was thirsty.He wanted to drink some water in the jar.Suddenly,the dog barked.
"Oh,Shelly!please be quiet.Are you thirsty,too?I will give you some water when I finished."But the dog did not stop barking and even jumped up on him.
"What?Maybe,you are hungry. Let me drink some water first.Then,I will give you something to eat." "Bark!Bark!"The farmer kicked the dog.
But the dog did not stop jumping up on him The dog jumped up higher and bit his master's hand. The jar dropped on the ground and broke into pieces.
"Oh,no!"He hit the dog.But soon,he found a dead snake in the pieces of the jar.He knew that the snake was poisonous.
"Oh,my!"Then, the water is poisonous,too!Shelly must have seen the snake drop into the jar.Oh,my faithful dog!You saved my life!"
The farmer felt very sorry for his dog.He thougut he shouldn'thit the dog."You were right,Shelly.Next time,I will listen!And I will not hit you,ever again."
