How high up the stalk was the break?

第一题：18米高的竹竿被风折断（但是还连着,没有完全断开）,折断后的竹竿尖（竹梢）碰到地面的地方离原竹竿根部6米,问折断的地方是原来竹竿多高的地方.（我猜想这是个直角三角形,勾股定理的题目.底边为6,三角形另外两边之和是18,设最终答案,也就是垂边为x,那么 x^2+6^2=(18-x)^2,算出来答案应该是8米）
第二题：两个飞机从同一个地方同时起飞,直线相反方向而行.一架飞机的平均速度比另外一架快18公里/小时.1.5小时候,他们相距1179公里,问两架飞机的速度分别是多少.[（x+18)+x]*1.5=1179 算出 x=384,所以两架飞机速度分别是384公里/小时 和 402公里/小时.
