为什么这用复数studies而不是study

是这样的,study既可以做动词也可以做名词,be good at 意思是擅长,善于某事 ,后面接动名词或者名词,所以be good at doing sth.或者be good at sth.,在这里显而易见是名词短语,his studies 指的是他的学习 ,那么study就是做名词用,study作名词的时候是可数的,这个时候study是泛指,他擅长他学的学科,那么就不可能是单数,因为他各科学习成绩都好,就是数学、语文..等都好,就要用复数.
至于other ,它的意思是（两个中的）另一个 ,所以是单数的,不可能有other + 复数 ,这也就是为什么 ,当other 跟在限定词an之后 ,合成一个单词 ,another ,也是另一个,再一个,又一个的意思 ,除非other变成复数形式others.
还有!the other day 是固定短语,就是这么写的,意思是“几天前” ,所以不会有别的写法
就像be good at 是擅长,不能写作 “be good on ”一样,这个是这么规定的,不存在1+1为什么等于2的问题.
