The character of the story is Silas Marner.He is a Weavers.Because of his friend's betrayal ,Silas Marner had been accused of a thief and had to leave his hometown .At the same time,he broke the marriage with his girlfriend.He lost confidience in people.Gradually ,he became a miser .He consider money as his friend.However,the money saved for fifteen years has all been stolen.He became a penniless pauper.At the time he was about to give up his life in despair,he met a three-year-old boy.The little boy changed his attitude towards life.He hosted the abandoned child and re-find the meaning of life.Silas Marner is one of George Eliot's most admired and loved works.The story stressed the importance of the moral concepts of retribution.I think it worth reading.抱抱哈我水平有限~!就这些咯我乱翻的~不知道行不行呀我借鉴了高考词汇手册努力了老半天就翻了这些囧
