为什么括号里面填desighed 而不能用被动语态呢?
请讲的清楚些,我语法知识几乎为0

designed by the engineer是定语,修饰car.因为不是谓语,所以disigned前面不能加is.
designed是过去分词,是非谓语动词的一种.它作定语时,与中心词之间是被动的关系：小汽车是被设计的.
句意：由工程师设计的那款新车很受年青人的欢迎.
顺便说一下,动词ing作定语时与中心词是主动关系.如：
The man walking on the street was Jim's father.
走在街上的那个人是吉姆的父亲.
