Getting humans to Mars will need medical research on the international
Space station until at least 2020,said the programme's lead scientist.
That is five years beyond Nasa's current budget.
The space station is a US＄100 billion project involving 16 nations.After more than 10 years,they have nearly finished building it.
A special panel said it would take more time to research the risks of going to Mars.
They need to look into radiation exposure,bone loss and other problems that humans have if they spend a long time in space.
Nasa plans to spend about US＄2.5 billion a year for space station operations until the end of 2015.
But ending it just five years after finishing it would upset Russia,Europe,Japan and Canada.Those countries have spent a lot of money on the stations.They want to get something back.

As is known to us all,everything including the earth has its limited life.Human beings can't live on the earth forever.When the earth doesn't exist,where will human beings live?This question has been considered by many scientists of different countries.Scientists have worked at this subject for a long time.They are trying to find other planets for man to live on.Mars is one of them.Man can't live without air,water and food.So the three factors are the basic conditions that human beings can live.I believe,with every effort of our scientists,we can live on another planet some day.
