Introduction to Luoding City
Luoding City, located in the central west Guangdong Province, is the famous anti-Japanese General Cai Tingkai's hometown and an important transportation link between Guangdong Province and China's southwestern provinces. With a population of 1.08 million including the 350 thousand urban population and a total area of 2327 sq km, including the 25 sq km urban area.
A Famous Historic and Culture City in Guangdong Province. Luoding belonged to Nanhai Prefecture in the Qin Dynasty, Cangwu prefecture in the Han Dynasty, became Shanghui County in the Song Dynasty, and was promoted to be a prefecture directly under the Court in the Ming Dynasty, and was changed to be Luoding County after the Revolution of 1911. Rich Resources.The mineral resources in Luoding are manganese, iron, tin, gold, limestone, granite, marble, kaolin, argil, quartz and etc. The reserve of quartz is 100 million cubic meters (cbm), granite 3 billion cbm, and marble and limestone 4 billion cbm. The local products are cassia bark, rosin, tea, silk, longan, litchi, mango, cassava, preserved soya bean, sanhuang chicken, etc.
Rapidly Developing Economy.Luoding's economy has been developed rapidly since the reform and opening policies was carried out. In 2002, great achievements as follows have been achieved: 8.02 billion Yuan of GDP and 11.39 billion Yuan of Gross Output Value of Industry and agriculture, of which 9.27 billion Yuan of Gross Output Value of Industry and 2.21billion Yuan of Gross Output Value of Agriculture.
