从上下文来看,我觉得是在说testimony不如probability重要,但是从文字上看好像是说testimony比probability重要.more to A than B 的用法.究竟是肯定A还是B更多一点?

这里的‘to'是关键词,如果光是 'more A than B' 或者 'more B than A' 那就应该没有问题.
'more to A than B' 的意思首先是说 A 里面包含 B, 或B是A的一部分, 但是B不是A的全部, 也就是说A除了有B之外, 还有别的更多的.
如：
There is more to statistics than probability.
就是说统计学除了概率之外, 还有更多的. （即概率是统计学的一部分, 但不是全部）.
There is more to the election than meets the eye.
意思是竞选不光是人们眼里看的, 也就是说除了大家看到的外, 竞选还有很多大家看不到的.
