do you think ads help people sell more products?why?
ads-广告 中英文回答都可以
In modern society, as competition among companies is becoming more and more intense, the advertisements(ads) is play a more pivotal role in the sales of the product than ever before. Can such ads help companies sell their products? Can such ads help consumers feel better about themselves?Admittedly, some ads indeed help the companies sell products, but the degree to which companies emphasize the role of ads should not be overstated. On the other hand, the second objective can not be achieved.
The advantage of such ads which employ some famous people to enter has to do with the fact that pursuit for the good thing is the human nature to everyone including the consumers. So companies can make use of such nature to help sell their products. For example, in China, there is a competition named "super star" in which many young men and women compete with each other. After the competition, one company employed the champion of " super star" to a ads for the product. Almost immediately, the sales of this kind of product increased sharply. Obviously the champion played a vital role in the success of the sales.
However, overly emphasizing the role of the famous people in the ads may lead to a unagreeable result. The key to the success of a product is always its own quality. Consider a product with poor quality. Even if the ads for this product involves a very famous person, after people use it, people will immediately find that the celebrity in the ads did not tell truth. And the sales of the product will inevitably face a declination sharply. So the poor quality not only harms the sales of the company, but also does bad to the celebrity. Obviously to keep the product selling well persistently, the good quality is more diciding than the ads, even if the ads involves some famous people.
Further more, the ads are not always considered to be a very important aspect to the product. To some people who always treat things from a objective sight, the celebrity in the ads can not add any good feelings to such people at all. Take the old people for example. Do they have the strong desire to be like the famous one in the ads? Probably not. The old people have many experience from which they can easily know what product is good and what is bad. Facing such groups of people, the ads can not attract them only through the somehow appealing famous people in them.
Also, no one can deny such a universal truth today: people in modern society have a stronger desire to be different from others rather than becoming the same as others. From this perspective, the ads full of famous people are not improving the sales of product but impeding them. So, facing so many various groups of people, the ads can be only a secondary aspect to the product and for companies, improving the quality of product is the only way to enhance their sales.
Now let us turn to the second claim of the issue. Whether the ads for a product can make people feel better about themselves? As far as I am concerned, this concern are not warranted. For example, there are many ads for diets, machines for physical exercises and so forth. In order to make themselver be more like the famous people in the ads, people tend to eat, exercise and behave according to the celebrity in the ads. As a result ,most people reported that they feel more tired than ever before and their diet everyday are unregularly now just because they do everything in accordance with the celerity in ads. Also, some people even consider themselves not so good as the celebrity and have lower self-esteem than before. Even worse, they begin to envy others in their lives. In such condition, can we say that people feel better than before?
All in all, the ads for the product indeed boost the sales to some extent. However, the degree to which the companies emphasize the role of ads should not be overstated. Also, people should make good choice according to the quality rather than the ads full of celebrities.
