Good evening students and parents.This is Ms.Kenyeres calling from Mount View School.We are so excited to have you back with us this Tuesday,September 2.Teachers will be out on the playground at 8:15 am.Students should find their teacher and learn which door is their designated entry point.Grade 1 students should look for Ms.Grapentin or Ms.Kousouris.Grade 2 students should look for Ms.Hunter.Grade 3 students should look for Ms.Barnes,Grade 4 students should look for Mr.MacDonald,Grade 5 students should look for Mr.MacDonald or Mr.Gossmann,and Grade 6 students should look for Mr.Gossmann.Kindergarten students should head directly to the library where they will find their teacher,Ms.Cregan.New students can approach any staff member and we will connect you with your teacher.If you are new to the school and haven’t registered your child,we ask that you head straight to the office to do so.
I’m excited to announce that Mount View School won a contest through Kiss 95.9 in which Mookie and Billie Jo will be airing live from our school on the first day.We are very excited to host a radio station!If you would like your child to possibly be on air,you will need to come into the school and sign two media release forms—one for Rogers Communication for Kiss 95.9 and one for the CBE.This will allow your child to possibly say something on radio.If you do not sign the waivers,your child will not be put on air.You may come into the school to sign the waiver as early as 8:00 am.The radio station will be set up just outside the main office and will remain there until 10 am.
Classes begin at 8:30 am and dismissal is at 3:15 for Grades 1-6.Morning Kindergarten students should come to the library for 8:30am and afternoon kindergarten students should come to the library for 12:25 pm.
There will be many forms coming home with your child in the first week of school.We ask that you return forms as soon as possible.One of the letters included in the package discusses CBE safety policies regarding the safe pick up and drop off of your child.I ask that you take time to read through this letter as well as it impacts how adults are to enter the school.There will be flexibility with this on the first day,but we do have to abide by the new policy thereafter.The letter explains which door adults may enter into the building,the importance of signing into the office,etc.This policy is meant to enhance safety and security in the hallways and minimize disruption to the learning environment in our schools.Thank you so much and we are looking forward to a great year to come!
