Nearly two hundred years ago,in France,two brothers stood watching smoke rising in the air.“ If we put some of that smoke in a bag,perhaps the bag would rise.” said one.“Yes,” said the other,“and if the bag was big enough,it might even lift us into the air,too.” The boys built a very large bag of paper and cloth.Under it,they made a fire.Soon the big bag began to fill up into a great round ball.It was the first balloon in the world.“We are right.” shouted the boys,“A bag full of smoke will rise.” But they found out later that it was not the smoke that made the balloon go up .It was the hot air from the fire.
