本文以巴赫金对成长小说的界定为基本的理论出发点,论述小说主人公艰难建构性别自我的成长历程,着重分析女性成长过程中因时代、家庭和生活中的苦难引起的创伤,以及由此造成的主体的存在体验,在身份困境和未婚先孕等苦难中体验饥饿、屈辱、孤独、恐惧、冷漠,在对经验的反思中弥合伤痛,在生活和苦难中主体意识逐渐觉醒.作为女性成长小说,其意义不在于体现对男权社会的偏激地对抗,而在于它更多地转向内心的自省与重新审视.本文“综合”女性主义理论、主体性理论、生存理论等方面的内容,通过文化背景分析、心理分析等,解读女性独特的生理心理体验和真切的希望与诉求,接近女性成长本质,力图对女性成长过程中于困境突围有所启发.
